PETeC’s core competency will be the fabrication of prototype devices or subsystems using novel printable materials onto flexible substrates.
A flexible approach
The PETeC equipment layout gives a good indication of the wide range of processes that will be used to develop novel pilot and manufacturing facilities. In general terms, the first process developments in PETeC will use conventional processing tools. This will enable our collaborators to implement the OSC materials into their existing manufacturing facilities. Following on from this, further planned investments will introduce roll-to-roll equipment to fully exploit the advantage of continuous production processes. This approach will maximize the use of experience and knowledge from the sheet-fed process into the continuous roll-to-roll process.
